Wep key for wireless router - How to setup wireless network on xp

Wep Key For Wireless Router

wep key for wireless router

    wireless router
  • A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router but also includes the functions of a wireless access point. It is commonly used to allow access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection.

  • A networking device that is a combination of an access point and a router.  These devices are usually used in private homes where client PCs can be anywhere in the house (and thus use WiFi to connect), and the network is a broadband connection provided by an ISP.

  • Wireless routers are actually routers with Ethernet plus wireless access points so that they have both wired and/or wireless at the same time.

    wep key
  • The WEP Key is a password which is exchanged between a wireless device and a router or routers using WEP security.

  • Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a deprecated security algorithm for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. Wireless transmission is susceptible to eavesdropping and, so, WEP was introduced as part of the original 802.11 protocol in 1997.

  • A text string used for WEP security on a Wi-Fi wireless network. A WEP key with 10 or 23 characters can include numbers and the letters A - F, and are not case-sensitive. 5 and 13 character WEP keys can include numbers and all letters (as well as some special characters), and are case sensitive.

Tired tonight. Have WAY too many computers, laptops & tablets in the house even by MY standards, and thats a lot normally. Been trying to get my Ark Web 2.0 summary slides off the darned tablet all night - but a) stupid wireless WEP key is being daft, b) crappy router is also not letting the 4th hub work and c) normal usb is dead due to operator error with a pocket and a washing machine.

Had to hook up and old Ext HDD - for one lousy file. And now, i just want to go to bed. At 8.30 pm. And I might just do that actually.

I still have to strip everything off all the HDD's on the tablets & lappies i have to hand back at work. Thats gonna suck and take a while :(

A 'walk' inside my appartment this evening reveals quite a lot of access points; stepping onto the balcony, 2 more were discovered.

Hint for all who don't want to be 'seen' this easy: log into your wireless router and disable 'SSID broadcast'. Remember your SSID because you need is along with your WEP/WPA key(phrase) the next time you want to login to your wireless router.

Wireless Broadband Repeater

wireless broadband repeater

    wireless broadband
  • Wireless Broadband is a fairly new technology that provides high-speed wireless internet and data network access over a wide area.

  • This is when a broadband connection is formed without wires such as when using a laptop or through a mobile phone. Wireless networks can be set up using radio waves to link users.

  • It is possible to use broadband connections wirelessly, provided your router or modem supports it. You also need a computer or mobile device with the right technology.

  • recidivist: someone who is repeatedly arrested for criminal behavior (especially for the same criminal behavior)

  • A firearm that fires several shots without reloading

  • repeating firearm: a firearm that can fire several rounds without reloading

  • A person or thing that repeats something, in particular

  • A watch or clock that can be made to repeat its last strike

  • a person who repeats; "the audience consisted largely of repeaters who had seen the movie many times"

Wireless Data Terminal : How To Strengthen Wireless Connection.

Wireless Data Terminal

wireless data terminal

    wireless data
  • A service that allows you to send digital data over a cellular phone. Analog phones require a cellular modem; digital phones do not. Not offered by all providers.

  • Describes a service that allows users to use their mobile device to transfer data across the TELUS Mobility network.

  • The end of a railroad or other transport route, or a station at such a point

  • An end or extremity of something, in particular

  • of or relating to or situated at the ends of a delivery route; "freight pickup is a terminal service"; "terminal charges"

  • a contact on an electrical device (such as a battery) at which electric current enters or leaves

  • station where transport vehicles load or unload passengers or goods

  • A departure and arrival building for air passengers at an airport

There are some situations where the data from different sensors is to be monitored and transmitted to monitoring device or a PC. While at some environments the wire
can not be run from the sensor to the monitoring device. In these situations wireless transmissions would be more beneficial. Most of the sensor units need a less amount of data furthermore, transmitted baud rate required is also slow. Since this seems to be a simple data link the efficient alternative is ‘WIRELESS ASYNCHRONOUS DATA LINK’(LOW SPEED). Not only the above industrial application but also the same idea can be implemented for point to point connection of computers in a
workplace or building. This project is expected to yield a Schmart PCB module; which would find applications in many areas. The goal of the project design is simple and easy to implement. Asynchronous
communication and RS232,--- ; since RS232 Interface is widely used and easily compatible /programmable with data terminal equipment, it’s been chosen the RS232 interface for the serial communication of data between DTE and DCE. The signals emanating from the RS232 have been conditioned by Encoder; Then after it needs to be fed to the UHF Transmitter on a single chip. Transmitter employs ASK Modulation and the frequency for transmission is 433.92MHz.

Hardware Geekiness: A data acquisition panel I designed around Obvius modbus DAQ hardware. Here, the mounting and wiring is complete - just need to label and mount into the enclosure. Using 2 - Obvius 3-phase demand/consupmtion meters, DC power supplies, DC Hall effect current transducers, CR Magnetics 4-20 mA DC voltage transducers (proportional to 0-150 VDC input), Obvius 4 input analog input module and Obvius Modhopper wireless transceiver. Ancillary components include Entreloc terminal blocks, DIN rail, circuit breakers and on/off switch with courtesy duplex outlet.

Wireless Modem Help

wireless modem help

    wireless modem
  • A wireless modem is a type of modem which connects to a wireless network instead of to the telephone system. When a mobile Internet user connects using a wireless modem, they're attached directly to the wireless ISP (Internet Service Provider) and can then access the Internet.

  • Modem and antenna for analog and digital cellphones, CDPD, ARDIS, BellSouth Intelligent Wireless Network, etc.

I had no internet today, I know! Nightmare. Once I got over the horror it was actually quite relaxing. It was unfortunate that the job I am currently doing needed online access but I had fortunately downloaded a few pdfs and was able to go through them with more care than I might have otherwise. I also spent a great chunk of my day on the phone to India being passed from pillar to post. I just knew it would come back to bite me on the bum when I agreed to a cheaper contract with Orange, for ?10 less a month they would send me a livebox wireless modem that I could just ignore (not being wireless capable) so I didn't open the box, my service remained the same and everything was fine, until I have a synchronisation issue and the help centre bounces you from department to department because Livebox custoners have their own technical support and even though I'm not using it it's that support I apparently need, I lost the will to live sometime after the 3rd time I was told to ring a different number, I went back and forth 4 times.

i am freaked. waiting 20 minutes for web pages. actually 30 minutes sometimes.

it is a broadband modem- 7 mbps.

often it falls back in speed, is switching bands for no apparent reason.

sometimes it works for weeks without any problem.
but even so, 1mbps is a very good result.

it also disconnects sometimes, reconnects, and then drops off completely on the USB side.

only cold boot helps.

this is going on for a long while now.
